Jem 28th March 2020

Dear Dad, Rob and Kay, I have many happy memories with Nan where she was so involved in bringing up James and I, so its difficult to pick one to share with you on here. I will go with our Saturday sleep overs at Gload Crescent which was such a weekend treat. James and I both got completely spoiled as we would get there and go with Grandad (via the park) to buy fresh door step bread to have with dinner. Nan would cook us our favourite dinner and not include any vegetables. Then when James had gone to bed I would be allowed to sit up late watching Casualty and eating chocolate with Nan. Sunday mornings then involved making pencil pots out of cereal boxes and climbing the apple tree in the garden. If I had had the chance to say one last thing to Nan I don't think I could put into words how many thank yous. I would therefore tell her what an inspiration she has been to me and how proud of her I was. Beautiful and elegant but yet as tough as old boots. The strength she showed after losing Grandad and rebuilding a life to the quality of a 21 year old was remarkable, and I will hold that memory when I am faced with life's challenges. As you have said yourselves - Nan - much loved.
