Dear Mum, Uncle Rob and Uncle John, Here are a few of my favourite memories of Nan. I think a lot of the wonderful things about Nan have already been said and I would like to echo those. I have so many wonderful memories of her and spending time growing up at her house. It was always exciting visiting Nan with so much to do, from playing with her enviable collection of toy cars and Duplo, climbing the apple trees in the garden, to watching SuperTed and re-enacting our favourite scenes with Grandad playing the part of Texas Pete. Most exciting of all was her vintage NES and the fact that at her house you could get Channel 5 on the TV! Nan always took such great care of us, she was firm but fair and always gave us plenty of treats! More recently, Hayley and I always used to pick her up and drop her off when we had family get togethers and it was always so lovely to catch up with her in the car (even if she struggled to hear me sometimes!) and she would still watch out of her door to wave us off when we dropped her off, just as she used to do when we were kids. Nan was a kind and generous woman, rarely buying much for herself and always giving generous gifts on special occasions. We always greatly appreciated her occasional bottle of wine she used to get us in exchange for the lifts! I also hugely admired how she coped following Grandad passing away, she kept active and maintained a busy lifestyle right up until the end. The way she rebuilt her life and kept such a positive outlook was inspirational. She was tough and proud, always looked the part and always put others before herself. She leaves behind a large and loving family and she brought so much joy into all of our lives. We will miss you Nan, rest in peace.
